YouTube Continues Crackdown Against Adblockers
In a YouTube Community post authored by Google Staff, an announcement was made on adblockers. Within, it was noted that viewers may experience buffering issues or may see an error “The following content is not available on this app” instead of a video on the site. In the brief statement they note that YouTube’s terms of service agreement does not allow third-party apps or software to deactivate advertising.
The article went on to justify this by noting that the platform’s Ads support creators being monetarily compensated for viewership. Ads on YouTube, it goes on, support creators and help people around the world experience the platform. Lastly, It closes by informing viewers that if they want an ad-free experience, they offer YouTube Premium.
